Karvonen Nature Film Festival
February 27 & 28, 2004
In February 2004, we worked with the Crooked Creek Conservancy Society of Athabasca to organize and host a nature film festival featuring the work of a local filmmaker, Albert Karvonen. The two day festival featured five films and was attended by 971 students and 231 non-students. Admission receipts and donations were applied towards the purchase and donation of 28 nature videos to regional public schools and community libraries for public viewing use. A full range of the over 100 films were also available for purchase. The films were followed by an open discussion on the art and craft of nature photography.
