10th Annual athabasca Butterfly Count

Location: Muskeg Creek Chalet, 56 St. at 49 Ave., Athabasca, Alberta.

Synopsis: Meet at Muskeg Creek Chalet at or before 12 noon for free hotdogs and drinks. Divide into five groups, for the town and each of the four quadrants outside town. Count from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Great for all ages, no experience necessary. Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Come and learn something about butterflies as well as contributing to our knowledge of what species occur here and in what numbers.

Bring: Walking shoes, water bottle, and sun protection.

Optional items: butterfly book, binoculars, insect net (some provided).
