Professor Jean-Pierre St-Maurice is currently a Canadian Research Chair at the Institute of Space and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. He has written well over 100 publications in the scientific literature and has made many public presentations. His research has focused on ionospheric physics, particularly as it relates to the Aurora Borealis. In the process he has been interested in how charged particles react to electric and magnetic fields in the upper atmosphere, in how electric fields and currents are produced in the aurora, and in the generation of turbulence and its effects in the ionosphere and atmosphere above 100 km altitude. Come and hear this dynamic speaker and learn about what is going on above our heads.
