Spider Talks
One of the co-leaders of Science Outreach – Athabasca likes spiders and tries to get others to like them too. Between 1980 and 2005, Robert Holmberg has made 123 presentations (with plastic models, illustrations, and live spiders) to about 2000 children in 21 schools or organizations in Athabasca, Boyle, Grassland, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Lethbridge, Rochester, Smith, Tofield, Calling Lake and Westlock. Audiences ranged from pre-kindergarten to Grade 6 classes, library groups, as well as various Beaver, Cub and Girl Guide groups.
